The late Sani Konukoglu, the founder of the Foundation, was awarded “Order of Merit and Certificate” with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated October 27, 1997 and numbered 30 for his social services during his lifetime.

The Order of Merit and the Certificate were handed over to his son, Abdulkadir Konukoglu, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sanko Holding, at a ceremony held at the Cankaya Mansion by President Suleyman Demirel on October 27, 1997.

The Sani Konukoglu Foundation was selected as the “Foundation of the Year” among 4500 foundations in the field of “Education and Health” throughout Turkey in 1997.

Abdulkadir Konukoglu was presented with the “Benevolent Person” award by the General Directorate of Foundations, at a ceremony held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Prime Minister of the time.

“Outstanding Service Award” was granted by the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to Abdulkadir Konukoglu, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, for his useful services in the prosperity, education, happiness, and social development of the public.

The Senate of Gaziantep University granted the “Title of Honorary PhD” and “Social Sensitivity” award to Abdulkadir Konukoglu, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our Foundation, for his support to the prosperity, education, happiness and social development of the public, as well as to the university.

The General Directorate of Foundations presented a plaque of appreciation to the Sani Konukoglu Foundation, which was one of 9 foundations that donated over one million TL.

A ceremony was held at the Ankara National Library to present plaques by the General Directorate of Foundations to the foundations that donated more than one million TL, among 4500 foundations across Turkey.

Adil Sani Konukoglu, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at SANKO Holding and Founding Member of the Sani Konukoglu Foundation, received the plaque on behalf the Sani Konukoglu Foundation as part of the program held with the participation of Mehmet Ali Sahin, Minister of State and Deputy Prime Minister, Atilla Koc, Minister of Culture and Tourism, deputies and bureaucrats.

Abdulkadir Konukoglu, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sani Konukoglu Foundation, said: “By this time, I have received so many awards that I don’t know the number, but the award I received for the services of the foundation is the most meaningful for me.”

At the 18th Stars of the Year Awards by Ekovitrin, the Sani Konukoglu Foundation was selected as the foundation of the year. Cemil Cicek, the Presidential High Advisory Board Member, Abdulkadir Aksu, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Vakıflar Bank, Hasan Buyukdede, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, Gonca Yilmaz Batur, the Deputy Minister of Trade, Zeki Konukoglu, the Chairman of Board of Directors at SANKO Holding, Ismail Gulle, the TIM Chairman, Osman Arslan, General Manager of Halkbank, Kamuran Abacioglu, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Ekovitrin, Seref Ozata, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bilal Kocak, the Member of the Board of Directors, and many guests from the business world attended the award ceremony held at the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) campus in Istanbul.

Abdulkadir Konukoglu, the Honorary President of SANKO Holding, was awarded “Benevolent Person of the Year in Turkey” by Ekovitrin magazine.

In the evaluation made by the Jury of Stars of the Year by Ekovitrin, it was stated that Abdulkadir Konukoglu, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sani Konukoglu Foundation, was granted Benevolent Person of the Year in Turkey for his contributions to the social and educational life of the country, leading the social responsibility and charity works, in addition to his outstanding efforts for the development of Turkey.
